Salty Girl of the Month is Lindsay Rozier
Lindsay is from the fishing town, Pensacola, Florida. You can always find her fishing these days with her boyfriend Stephen. Her whole family has grown up around fishing. Her father is a captain and shares the same love for the sport. When she comes home her dad sets aside one day just for fishing with her.
While living in Charlotte, NC Lindsay participates in fishing tournaments. She fished hard and won BIG in these tournaments. The excitement of winning tournaments gave Lindsay her new passion, fishing. Lindsay finds herself reading fishing magazines and counting down the days till the next tournament. She can remember her very first tournament. She caught a first place Lady Fish. It was a little over 3 pounds but the biggest fish in that division. She was so excited and her dad being the coordinator of the tournament had to contain his excitement that his daughter had just won first place! It was a great day for the entire family.
Lindsay’s favorite reel is a Shimano Stella on a Calcutta rod. Her favorite fish to catch is the fighting Red Fish. Lindsay’s most unusual catch was a Lizard Fish that she caught over Thanksgiving. One of her must haves on the boat is her navy and lime green monogrammed hat. It’s her lucky charm as she has won every tournament with it! Her favorite thing to nibble on while fishing is oranges and Chex Mix – sweet and salty!
Lindsay’s tip is to wear the fish down! She has lost many fish by trying to pull them into the boat before they are ready. She always slowly pulls her rod tip up, bring the fish to her. She drops the rod, reeling the line as fast as she can while dropping the rod tip downward and maintaining tension on the line. This will keep the fish on the hook. It sounds like a lot of work but it comes from her dad, the expert!!

The best overall fishing memory for Lindsay is when she was a little girl. Her dad would take her to the shore and show her how to make knots on hooks and dig for sand fleas. It was so simple but so much fun and a great memory for Lindsay and her dad.
