Salty Girl of the Week: Emily Hall from Middleboro, MA

Salty Girl of the Week:  Emily Hall from Middleboro, MA

Emily started her love of fishing last year with the help of her boyfriend, Taylor.  He took Emily out fishing the summer of 2010 and she instantly fell in love with fishing and the boyfriend as well.  Emily’s father has always been an avid fly fisherman and he still can't believe that Emily has the fishing bug.  Emily’s first tuna that she ever caught was a giant Bluefin measuring 74 inches and she was able to sell it.

Emily favorite fishing memory was when she traveled to Cabo San Lucas with her boyfriend's family for vacation last winter.   They went striped marlin fishing and Taylor prepped her on what to do the entire way out there.  They finally hooked one, and they sent Emily to the fighting chair.  Taylor had told Emily that striped marlin fight just like a bass, so she expected it to be easy and in to the boat within a few minutes... 45 minutes later, plus a lot of back pain, and many evil eye shots at Taylor, the fish was finally brought to the boat and ended up being the biggest catch of the trip!  She was excited to see how the marlin lit up next to the boat another great memory of this exciting day for her.

You can always find Emily aboard the Fortuna, out of Scituate Harbor, MA.  Her favorite captain (sorry Taylor) is actually Taylor's father, Greg Sears, known as “Old Greg" to his friends.  He's one of the best fisherman and the finest captains around Massachusetts.   Her favorite snack on the boat is a box of Cheez-its.  It doesn't matter if it's 5:30 in the morning, she’ll still eat them and usually finish the box at some point during the day.  You will always find Emily with her camera while fishing; she is known to get the best pictures of the catches of the day.

Emily’s tip of the week - If you're trolling, make sure you check for weeds on the line!  The fish can see them and this could be a reason why they won't go for it. (Taylor should be so proud)
